A template is a packaged agent setup: its prompt, its skills, its scheduled tasks, the connectors it needs and the files it works from. Installing one recreates all of that in your own workspace. Browse them on rerun.build/templates, or from the library inside the app.

What comes with a template

A template ships the shape of a working agent, never the author’s account. Everything personal is stripped on the way out.

Pick it

From the library in the app, or from the marketplace page. A template can carry several agents that work together.

Place the agents

The board switches to placement mode. Tap a tile per agent. If you have no Box yet, Rerun claims one for you.

Run the guided setup

Most templates need to be connected to your own accounts, so the chat opens on a Start installation button instead of a message box.

Click Start installation and the agent runs its own install script. It:
  • introduces itself and says what it needs
  • takes stock of its connectors and offers to set up the ones that are missing
  • asks you for the values only you can give, one card at a time
  • writes down what it learned
  • runs one small end-to-end test on real data
  • tells you what you can now ask for, and when its automations next run
You answer in the chat. When it needs a credential, it opens a masked form, so nothing sensitive goes into the conversation. See Human in the loop.
The scheduled tasks and webhooks a template carries arrive switched off. They switch on when the setup completes, with their timers reset so nothing fires the second you install.
You can Skip the setup and talk to the agent right away. The automations then stay off until you switch them on yourself. A template can be free, a one-time purchase, or a monthly subscription. Paid ones show the price on the card and take you through checkout before installing. A monthly template can be cancelled. When it lapses, the agents it installed are switched off rather than deleted, exactly like going over a plan limit.

After the install

The agent is yours. Change its prompt, add skills, retune its schedule, switch its model. Nothing is locked, and updates to the original template do not overwrite what you changed.
